A few more days....

1 More week till Christmas day! We will be going to Mom and Dad's in the morning and Granny's at night and I can't wait. Wishing the rest of the family would be here though.
Looking for a rental home in Jacksonville, Florida. I love going to new places but finding a home..not so much. I just want to have one without all of the looking.
Jess, Brian, and Caden will be here very soon. 8 more days! We are going to spend some much needed time catching up and celebrating the arrivals of our baby boys born in 2010. CAN'T WAIT!

So two weeks old today....Logan looks more and more grown up every day. He is trying to lift his head and has an occasional smile while he dreams. It has been an adjustment being a mommy but I wouldn't trade it for the world. I only hope I am a good one and he has a great life.
Only 3 more weeks till we leave to Jacksonville, Florida. Were excited to get there and get settled in to our new home. I am going to enjoy the next few weeks with family and friends.

We made it to baby land

Were proud parents of Logan Lee Pickens born on November 29, 2010 at 1:46 pm weighing 6.6 pounds and 19 1/2 inches. He is a little angel from heaven and we are so happy. Our little family is complete and Drake is loving him too.

Getting ready for my last doctors apt. this morning before Logan gets here! Happy that Aaron is going with me.

Tuesday, November 23, 2010

Just got back from a morning walk. It was so nice to get outside in the cool air and listen to music. I won't have many more days without my little one.
38 weeks now 21 more to go. Logan will be here next week and I can't wait to hold my baby. FINALLY!
Everyone is so excited. Connie left Alabama to head here today and Barry is flying in on Monday morning. Mom took off from school on Monday next week so they can be there too. It's going to be nice having the whole family together.

Some exciting news! I had my 36 week doctors apt. yesterday and he is going to induce me on November 28th at 7 pm. Logan will be here on November 29th!!! I can't wait. I am so excited and scared all at the same time. He thinks he is about 5 1/2 pounds now and he has already dropped. I bet that's what the pain was all about. I hope I will be a great mom I have been waiting for him for a long time. I can't wait to see Aaron hold him I know he will be the best dad.

Feeling not so good

I had such a bad night last night. It's called PAIN and I guess since i've had such a great pregnancy, that now my time has come to feel it. I could barely walk last night even after a hot shower and ended up "sleeping" on the couch. Well, I guess it could be worse.
I'm just ready for my baby boy to get here and my body to get back to normal.
So blessed to have an amazing husband though who did three loads of laundry for me.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween! We had fun tonight crusing the town with the family. First stop grandma and pawpaw j's to check out their candy stash and pawpaw showed Aaron his new creation of a green house and his three workshops full of every tool you can imagine. It was amazing! It was so funny seeing the look on peoples faces when they saw my costume designed by my amazing husband! He did two this Halloween. A pumpkin face and an 8 ball. Loved it!
On to the Aunt and Uncles where the guys got a little dressed up. I guess that will do...the three nerds. Then on to the brothers girlfriends house where we ate more candy and I had an emergency bathroom break. Five min. later we were off to grandma c's house where I got to show off some of Logan's stuff to the family. Finally, we were off to a hotel to scare the brother at work. Yeah he wasn't scared. Then home for dinner. After all of the candy all I could eat was some lettuce. Good times!

Eventful Week

Winging gone...showers done... now the waiting begins.

We had an amazing time with the family over the past week. It has been along time since we were all together. Aaron looked so good in his uniform at the winging and it made me so proud to pin those wings on. My hands were shaking as I whispered to him how proud I was of him. Friday was an all day event which included an Aaron tour of the plane he has been flying. It looked so complicated all of those buttons and numbers. I can't imagine how he does it and does it well! Now he has a month or so off to do what he loves...relax. His new wife aka the hunting boat he bought, has taken over and he is really enjoying getting it ready for duck season in a week.
We had several birthdays over the week including Granny's 80th and Clark's 1st. They were so much fun.
My maternity photo shoot was on Wed. Thanks to Green Tree Photography I felt amazing and have amazing pictures to remember what it was like to carry Logan so close to me. I have been feeling his movements so much lately. I wish I could see inside my belly.
Now the waiting begins to see when we will move to Jacksonville, Florida and see when Logan arrives.

Last flight today as a student pilot. Aaron flew to Victoria today for his last flight in the T44. I guess you can tell I am a proud wife since I have been blogging so much about him lately. It's been a long road but I am so excited to see what adventures lie ahead.
Family tomorrow and maternity photos by Green Tree Photography. I can't wait!

Friday, October 8, 2010

Solo today! Aaron's in Louisiana on his last solo in the T44. Only 1 more week from today until he gets his wings. I am such a proud wife and can't wait to see where we go next...after Jacksonville.
Family comes in town in a few days and I can't wait to see everyone. It's probably one of the hardest parts of this life is not having EVERYONE that you love around. That's okay though, it's a great life and we make the most of the times we have when we are together.
Excited about my last baby shower next Saturday! Can't wait to see what Logan gets and can't wait to enjoy all of the girl time.

The Good Life

Went to the beach this morning with Aaron and Drake. It was so beautiful outside. Love the cool air and the sound of the waves crashing. I can't wait for Aaron to be done with flight school so he can just sit and relax on the beach instead of study on it. I am so thankful though that I am married to such a good man.

First COLD front!!! Woohooo.... I knew it was going to be in the sixties early this morning so I woke up at 7:30 to take Drake for a walk around the neighborhood. It was well worth it! Got my exercise and enjoyed the beautiful morning. Now I have a some banana cinnamon bread baking in the oven for Aaron when he gets home. Smells like fall. I love this time of year.

Okay im getting deep but....

Just sitting here thinking about relationships. We talked about relationships this morning at church, and after the day i've had it's no wonder the word "relationship" has come up so much. Dealing with some friends that are going through some marriage difficulty and amongst other things, thinking about why they work out the way they do. It seems like just when you think every thing is going great...bam. I wonder why God makes us the way we are..two completely different people with different opinions, personalities, and ways of relating. Maybe life would be to boring if we were the exact replica of each other.

Do we ever think how are lives would be drastically different if that person wasn't around. Just sayin...

I think sometimes we tend to put our selves first ALL OF THE TIME when in reality you should put others first. Choosing to give selflessly and doing "giving" to them what you would want to be given and done to you.

Cars don't run for 200, 000 miles with out an oil change and new tires...

"Our marriage shouldn't take this much work. " (Trust me it should)

Sometimes it feels like well maybe if I was this way then he/she would be this way or if he/she would just be this way then it would be so much better and easier. In reality you can't change them, you must look within yourself.

That's when you get on your knees and start praying.

My Day

Woke up this morning at 4:45 to see Aaron off for his cross country. So I couldn't go back to sleep and the t.v. kept me company while Drake was snoozing away.
He made it to North Carolina so happy!
I found the best kept doggy secret in Corpus Christi....Took Drake to Bruno's Bath House for a few hours of doggy playtime with his friends. He came home and passed out on the floor. Not bad for $2.00.
During my 2 hours of free time...I TRIED to get the truck inspected. To bad for having insurance in another state because you are military. Darn. Now I have to go another day. I think there should be a clause for that.
Now to decide what to do next....beach with Drake and off to a movie with the girls.

Friday, September 24, 2010

Well, he's off to New River, North Carolina tomorrow on his cross country in the T44. He will be flying, leaving on Saturday morning and arriving back sometime on Monday. I can't wait for him to be through this next phase of flight training. The count down begins. Only 3 weeks from today and he will have "gold wings". Super Proud.

Logan Lee Pickens...count down

Our little man

Something is missing right now....

Wishing Aaron was home. It's 10:30 pm and he is still flying. So proud....such a hard worker. I can't wait for flight school to be over for a little while. We need a vaca.

Summer Day

Went to church this morning, and then had an amazing day with friends paddle boating on the canal in our backyard. Jumped off the boat...oh so prego and then kayaked back home. Loving life.

Had my last day of work yesterday for a long time. It's such a weird feeling. Love it!

Baby Shower

Logan's baby shower was amazing. It's so nice to have such special people in my life. The hostesses decorated the room to match Logan's bedding that his MiMi bought. Mara made a watermelon stroller and Kelly made a cupcake tree. I got a big package from Jess in Japan with everything from Sushi socks to a silver spoon. It made me tear up a little but I felt like she was there with us. I had so much fun and Logan is blessed with so many things already. He is so loved!

Baby Logan-23 weeks and 5 days ...1 lb 5 oz.
We got to see our little baby boy today. It was so amazing. He was yawning and eating while we watched on the sonogram. I can't wait to see him! It makes me much more anxious for December to get here but I am going to enjoy every moment until it gets here.

Wednesday, August 11, 2010

I got to talk to Jess last night on the deck while the sun was going down. It was so good to hear Caden's little cries in the background. Hopefully we will get to see each other in Houston in January with our baby boys.
I was sitting here thinking how every day is a miracle. I love every moment of feeling my baby grow. Knowing he is alive and well is just one more blessing God has given our family.
Aaron had a night flight yesterday and one tonight. I am so proud of that man. He should be getting winged in 10 weeks. Another proud day in the Pickens household. He is enjoying flying but surfing will always be #1. Hopefully he will get to enjoy a surf vacation sometime soon after he gets his wings. Unless a hurricane comes and he gets to vacation right here in Corpus.
So 1 more day of work turned into one more month. I have now become a part time Long Term Leasing Assistant at the Rental Management Company until September 15th. Yeah I guess I have a hard time saying no when I feel needed.

Saturday, August 7, 2010

The weeks have gone by pretty fast. I will be 23 weeks tomorrow. I can't wait to hold my baby boy.

Tuesday, August 3, 2010

Life is great.

We have been enjoying being in Texas for a few months but looking forward to the move to Jacksonville, Florida too. One thing about the Navy is it takes us to places we would never go. Makes life fun. We named our son on July 8th, 2010. Logan Lee Pickens is now 22 weeks old in my belly and growing strong. Aaron got to feel his kicks last Sunday. He was pretty amazed and said they felt like "heart beats". I can't wait to meet the little man and hold him in my arms.
I have two more days left at work and I can't wait. Then the gym will call my name and housewife will be my j o b.

Oh Belly!

8 weeks and 4 days
15 weeks and 2 days

"You are growing so big so fast. I really hope you tell everyone else in this body that you are the only thing that can grow. Grow as big as you want to but come back tighter than before you were filled with our baby. I really appreciate the fact that you haven't left any marks yet...thanks to that coco butter I have been giving you. P.S. Now that I think of it don't get to big so I can still put some cute clothes on you. Thank you oh so much!"

Yesterday we got an amazing ultrasound and got to see our baby thanks to Denise! "Baby P" was crossing it's little legs "little miss/mr" comfortable, so we couldn't see the gender %100. They think from what they saw that "IT'S A GIRL" (my fingers are crossed as we speak) but I will be so excited with either!!! I go back hopefully when the in laws are here to see "Baby P" again for sure. It always makes me tear up when I get to hear/see that amazing life growing inside my belly. God is truly amazing! It seems like the weeks have gotten shorter and time has flown by since that day in Huntsville, Alabama, the moment I knew I was going to be a mom. Words can't describe that feeling.

Im back....

So many exciting times lately and I haven't been blogging! We are back in Corpus Christi, Texas now for a while. Aaron will be getting wings sometime in October. We are both very excited! There will be a little Pickens born this year. We will be having a baby on December 6th. I am 15 weeks pregnant today. Hopefully soon we will find out the gender! Healthy and Happy. I spent time in Okinawa, Japan visiting Jessica and Brian for ten days in May.We had so much fun on our last trip together before we both start families. Caden James Simmons will be born in a few weeks and he will be one very loved baby. I can't wait to see him hopefully soon!!
